Blackpool Sea Life Centre is a fascinating, exciting and educational underwater experience. There are over 50 displays of the finest marine and freshwater creatures including sharks, rays, Jellyfish, seahorses and piranhas. At the special Sea Laboratory, visitors are allowed to actually handle sturdy, crusty rock pool creatures including crabs and starfish.
The center welcomes over 6 million visitors a year with its marine collections. The centerpiece of its attractions is the Lost city of Atlantis shark. Other attractions include walking through the fabulous Crystal Tunnel, just a few inches away from a six-foot tropical shark and a friendly stingray rising to the surface to feed. There is also a Pacific Octopus, a giant of the sea able to grow to a span of 5 feet across. Visitors can also enjoy viewing two of the deadliest creatures on this planet, the Australian Blue Ring Octopus and the Crown of Thorns Starfish, whose venomous powers enable them to kill a man under 5 seconds.
New Attractions include the “Jellyfish – Phantoms of the Deep!” Including a collection of UV light enhanced Moon, Lagoon and Upside-Down Jellyfish.
The exhibits are constantly updated and offer visitors a wide range of underwater marine and floral life to enjoy viewing. The centre is ideal for the whole family and is very popular with both locals and tourists.
Other features include a Sea-View Café; Soft play area with ball pit, Gift Shop, Education resource centre.
