Events and activities is what Blackpool is all about. Welcoming hundreds of shows, concerts and special events each year, and with the events calendar continually growing and expanding, there are lots of reasons to visit Blackpool and stay the whole week!,

Blackpool is kmown as one of the main dance venues in the World. With two magnificent ballrooms, Blackpool regularly hosts major national and international events. With the success of TV's "Come Dancing" its popularity has grown enormously. The largest and most famous of these events is Blackpool’s Annual Dance Festival, which attracts top international competitors from around the world.

Blackpool International Fireworks Championships – Each year the skies above Blackpool provide for a spectacular firework display, competing with the international fireworks competition of Plymouth Hoe. As with many seaside resorts there is a spectacular end of season firework display every November at the Pleasure Beach, Blackpool. Check the weatehr and phone for a last minute update however.

"Blackpool Illuminations", that famous turn of phrase,is the biggest night of the year when the resort bathes into a glory of colour as the world famous Illuminations are switched on. Many thousands of people gather at this free event to celebrate the start of the incredible 66 night display.

Blackpool Air Display – As with may seaside resorts, such as another of the UK's leading resorts; Torquay, today’s top pilots including the World Famous Red Arrows regularly visit the resort.
